The largest gap is expected in 2027 \u2014 from $30 to $35 billion.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-09-29\/ukraine-to-have-54-billion-funding-gap-by-2029-imf-predicts\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">is reported by<\/a> Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the International Monetary Fund&#8217;s estimates.<\/p>\n<p> According to preliminary IMF calculations, Ukraine may lack another $17 billion in 2028, and about $2 billion in 2029. However, these estimates may still change.<\/p>\n<p> Donors discussed additional support for Ukraine at a meeting in Brussels. The European Union previously agreed on a \u20ac90 billion loan package for Ukraine and is calling on partners to provide another \u20ac30 billion in funding for the current and next years.<\/p>\n<p> At the same time, the European Commission and the IMF expect the Ukrainian government to implement the planned reforms. According to Bloomberg, this should facilitate the receipt of international aid and strengthen control over the use of funds.<\/p>\n<p> Separately, EU countries are discussing possible sources of additional financing. Some states have returned to the proposal to use Russian assets frozen in Europe worth about 210 billion euros. Other countries are considering the option of issuing joint debt obligations.<\/p>\n<p> At the same time, the IMF emphasizes that Ukraine&#8217;s financial situation remains dependent on continued international support.
