The United States has imposed new sanctions against 13 individuals and entities that Washington links to the purchase of weapons and components for Iran. The sanctions list includes two Russian companies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> Reuters, citing the US Treasury Department.<\/p>\n

The US Treasury Department said that the new restrictions should make it more difficult for Tehran to resume military programs and raise the price for those who help Iran purchase weapons and necessary components.<\/p>\n

Ten individuals and entities have been sanctioned by the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control. They are linked to networks in Iran, China, Hong Kong and Pakistan that Washington says procured weapons and components for the Iranian Ministry of Defense and Logistics.<\/p>\n

Separately, the State Department imposed restrictions on three more companies, including two Russian ones – JSC “Research and Design Bureau named after O.S. Yakovlev”<\/strong> and MG-Flot LLC<\/strong> , as well as the Iranian airline Saha Airlines<\/strong> . According to the US, they were associated with military procurement and the transportation of weapons for Iran.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Finance’s list also includes the representative of the Iranian defense ministry in Beijing, Seyed Asghar Alizadeh Tabatabai, the Iranian company Kavoshcom Asia R and D Group, the Hong Kong-based EC Mojo Technology Co Limited and its representative Li Feng, as well as the head of the Pakistani defense company Cavalier Group, Wasim Pasha Tajammal.<\/p>\n

Washington said the restrictions are part of Operation Economic Outcast<\/strong> , aimed at cutting off the financial and logistical channels that Iran uses for military procurement and evading sanctions.<\/p>\n

Recall, earlier “Pryamiy” wrote that Donald Trump signed a law on strengthening sanctions against Russia and Iran<\/a> . The document expanded Washington’s sanction and tariff powers against both countries.<\/p>\n
