Some of them are already under 90 years old. And despite the promises of the Russian authorities to immediately release elderly prisoners and old people who have suffered from persecution, we see absolutely no progress. And we must understand: if Putin is able to do this in the center of Ukraine, in the west of Ukraine, then the next moment he will be able to do it in Europe. The more sanctions you impose, the weaker Russia will be. The more effective funds and weapons you provide to Ukraine, the sooner this war will end. So a stronger Ukraine means a stronger Europe,&#8221; the leader of Eurosolidarity is convinced.<\/p>\n<p> He also stated that Europe still does not have enough weapons to defend its own land. \u201cThat is why effective cooperation in the military-industrial complex \u2013 and some countries already have excellent experience in this, such as Lithuania, Sweden, Denmark \u2013 is extremely important. However, some countries do not treat this cooperation so responsibly. Every penny that you invest in the Ukrainian defense industry is not charity, it is an investment in your own security. Advanced innovations and combat experience combined with European industrial capacities and American technologies are undoubtedly capable of bringing the end of the war closer,\u201d Poroshenko believes.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;Please turn to your national parliaments and the EPP political family to seek stronger military support. First of all, air defense, long-range missile technologies and the rapid expansion of European defense production,&#8221; Petro Poroshenko urged.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;At the same time, I want to emphasize: there can be no lasting peace without justice and accountability. I strongly welcome your initiative to establish a special tribunal for the crime of aggression. This is a historic step. Now we must ensure that it becomes a fully functioning body, not just a declaration. This is what we really need. And the compensation mechanism must move from documenting damages to real payments. This is especially relevant during the process that is currently being discussed &#8211; the implementation of the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights regarding Russia, including these cases, the payment of compensation.
