The procedures are implemented at the army level and define the order of operations for pilots and military personnel participating in air defense.

One of the key changes will be to simplify the identification of aerial objects. Whereas previously, a fighter jet had to approach the target and conduct a visual inspection, now so-called positive identification will be used.

The military will be able to use radar and other systems to make a decision on the destruction of the facility. Information received by the Polish side from Ukraine will also be taken into account.

The Polish Ministry of Defense explains the change in procedures by regular cases of drones and other aerial objects entering Polish airspace during Russian attacks on Ukraine. The current visual identification rules were developed mainly for peacetime to reduce the risk of mistakenly hitting a civilian aircraft.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

New rules for identifying and destroying enemy aerial targets entering Polish airspace will come into effect in Poland on October 1.
