Among the Ukrainians surveyed, 50% believe that the authorities are not doing enough to ensure Ukraine’s speedy accession to the EU. At the same time, 46% are convinced that the necessary obligations are being fulfilled.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is evidenced by<\/a> the results of a survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, conducted on September 12\u201321, 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

Sociologists surveyed 1,002 adult citizens of Ukraine who, at the time of the study, lived in government-controlled territory.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n

At the same time, relatively few respondents have categorical assessments. Only 4% believe that the authorities are fully fulfilling the obligations necessary for Ukraine’s accession to the EU. On the other hand, 16% are convinced that they are not fulfilling them at all.<\/p>\n

KIIS also analyzed the answers depending on the respondents’ attitude towards President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.<\/p>\n

Among those who fully trust the president, 25% believe that the government is not fulfilling its commitments to European integration, and another 6% are undecided. At the same time, the majority in this group believe that the government is fulfilling the necessary commitments.<\/p>\n

Among respondents who “rather trust” Zelensky, 62% also believe that the government is fulfilling its obligations.<\/p>\n

At the same time, among those who do not trust the president, the opposite assessment prevails. Thus, 71% of respondents who “rather do not trust” Zelensky believe that the government is not fulfilling its obligations. Among those who “do not trust at all” the president, 77% hold this opinion. At the same time, 26% and 19%, respectively, believe that the government is fulfilling its obligations.<\/p>\n

What prevents Ukraine from moving towards the EU?<\/h3>\n

Sociologists also asked Ukrainians what factors most hinder the country’s movement towards membership in the European Union.<\/p>\n

Most often, respondents mentioned corruption in central government bodies \u2014 32%<\/strong> . Another 29% consider the reluctance of the EU itself or individual EU countries to accept Ukraine as an obstacle.<\/p>\n
