To find the money, the Russian government wants to raise taxes, take some of the excess profits from large companies, and sell confiscated assets.

This is reported by Bloomberg, citing the draft Russian budget.

In 2027, Russia plans to spend about 17 trillion rubles, or $205 billion, on military needs. This is more than a quarter more than the previous figure. In 2028, spending is expected to decrease slightly, to 16.6 trillion rubles.

To do this, the Russian government is looking for additional money in other sectors of the economy. In particular, it plans to increase taxes and fees for businesses.

One of the biggest burdens will fall on mining companies and fertilizer producers. Under certain conditions, the state will take up to 30% of their excess profits. For gold mining companies, the excess profit tax will be 20%.

Another source of money will be the sale of confiscated property. The Russian authorities expect that this year such assets will bring 342.3 billion rubles to the budget.

Since 2022, assets worth tens of billions of dollars belonging to Russian businessmen and foreign companies have changed hands in Russia. Some of them were sold or transferred by the authorities to new owners.

Ordinary Russians will also pay more. In 2027, utility tariffs in the Russian Federation are planned to increase by an average of 11%.

At the same time, spending on education, medicine, culture, and the social sphere will not increase significantly, and in some areas they are planned to be reduced.

As a reminder, Vladimir Putin has stated that military spending will remain the top priority of the Russian budget for the next three years . At the same time, according to experts, there is no longer enough money to finance the war, so the Kremlin is forced to cut civilian spending and increase debt.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram .

Russia plans to spend record amounts of money on the war against Ukraine for several more years.
