According to her, after a meeting with Ukrainian diplomats, the European Commission concluded that the available funds will be sufficient for Ukraine’s needs in 2026.

Pineau also reminded about the funds under the Ukraine Facility program, which can be disbursed this year, provided that Ukraine fulfills the agreed conditions and reforms. At the same time, the EU does not plan to postpone to 2026 the payments planned for 2027.

An informed source in the government explained to RBC-Ukraine that they plan to close the budget deficit through internal decisions.

“Part of it has been redistributed, part will be taken from weapons spending,” the source said.

According to him, agreements have also been reached regarding European support funds planned for 2027. The European partners cannot postpone these payments to 2026, but they plan to coordinate the production schedule with the weapons manufacturers and shift the payments next year so that they are made in early January.

Thus, according to the source, the basic deficit of the state budget of Ukraine for 2026 is planned to be closed.

“It depends on when the Rada votes – regarding the part of these funds that depends on the Rada,” the source concluded.

It was previously reported that Ukraine may face a deficit in external financing totaling about $54 billion by 2029. The largest gap is expected in 2027 — from $30 to $35 billion.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

Ukraine plans to close its state budget deficit by 2026 through internal reallocation of funds and a reduction in spending on weapons purchases.
