Petro Poroshenko congratulated the Teroborona fighters, who from the first hours of the full-scale invasion stood up to defend the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The day before the great war, they were engineers and drivers, IT professionals and entrepreneurs. They made plans, rushed to work. And the next morning they joined the ranks of the Armed Forces. Young and experienced, with different backgrounds \u2014 they were all united by one decision: “I am staying.” Someone first took their relatives to a safe place, and then returned. Others came, without wasting a single minute,” said the fifth President. <\/p>\n

“At that time, the 206th TRO battalion of Kyiv was being formed in our office on Lavrskaya. Its fighters had never served before, but they had the will. A few hours of initial briefing – and they were already defending the capital. More than four years have passed since then, and the TEROBORON still remains one of the pillars on which the country’s defense rests. Its fighters are fighting along the entire length of the front. Some units are assigned to brigades in the hottest directions, where the fate of the war is being decided today. Others, together with the Air Force, stand guard over the Ukrainian sky and shoot down Russian drones and missiles,” Petro Poroshenko stated. <\/p>\n

“Over the years, yesterday’s civilians, who did not even think about shoulder straps, have become hardened warriors. The war took many of those who first put on a pixel in 2022. They laid down their lives for Ukraine. Some were left to their fate, like the Kherson territorial defense in Lilac Grove. But even there they accepted the fight. Eternal memory to the fallen TRO fighters. Glory to the territorial defense soldiers!”, Poroshenko writes. <\/p>\n
