Ukraine has received another \u20ac1.2 billion from the European Union under the Ukraine Support Loan program. The funds will be directed to the priority needs of the Defense Forces.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by<\/a> Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Koretsky.<\/p>\n

According to the head of government, after this tranche, the total amount of defense funding received by Ukraine under the program reached almost 13 billion euros.<\/p>\n

“We continue to work with European partners to ensure that the remaining funding is received on time and in full,” Koretsky noted.<\/p>\n

The Ukraine Support Loan program provides up to 90 billion euros in assistance to Ukraine in 2026\u20132027. Of this amount, 60 billion euros should be allocated to defense needs, in particular, the purchase of necessary weapons and the development of the defense-industrial complex.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Ukraine continues to seek additional funds for defense financing. In late August, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the need to raise $27 billion for the Defense Forces, of which about $10 billion is needed by the end of the year.<\/p>\n

A significant part of the deficit is related to financing the purchase of missiles and drones, as well as payments to military personnel.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the State Budget of Ukraine received almost 2.9 billion euros from the European Union<\/a> as part of the eighth regular payment under the Ukraine Facility program. About 800 million euros of this amount was first received by Ukraine through the Ukraine Support Loan (USL) mechanism.<\/p>\n

As reported, the European Union has refused to provide Ukraine with additional funding for 2026 ahead of schedule<\/a> until Kyiv meets certain conditions regarding reforms. This concerns funds from an EU loan of 90 billion euros, part of which was supposed to cover Ukraine’s financial and defense needs.<\/p>\n
