In the center of Ivano-Frankivsk, a 21-year-old man beat a girl during a conflict over jealousy, and then attacked two passers-by who witnessed the fight. He hit one of them with the butt of a gun and wounded the other with a shot in the hand.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office and the regional police.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred around midnight near a restaurant on Sichovykh Striltsiv Street. A quarrel broke out between a man and a girl due to jealousy, which escalated into a fight.<\/p>\n

According to the investigation, the man hit the girl in the face and grabbed her by the neck. The conflict was witnessed by two passersby – a 17-year-old and a 22-year-old boy.<\/p>\n

Seeing them, the attacker approached the young men, took out a SUR-TT 33 pistol and hit the 17-year-old boy on the head with its handle. When the 22-year-old tried to intervene and pull the attacker away, he pointed the weapon at him and shot him.<\/p>\n

As a result of the shooting, the 22-year-old man suffered an open gunshot fracture of the phalanx of his right hand. The 17-year-old victim was diagnosed with bruises and abrasions of the soft tissues of the head. <\/p>\n

A 21-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk was reported on suspicion of hooliganism under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The court chose for him a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail. If convicted, the man faces three to seven years in prison.<\/p>\n
