A bail of 20 million hryvnias has been fully paid for former Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Mudra. Earlier, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure for her in the form of detention for a period of 60 days with the possibility of bail.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported by<\/a> “Ukrainska Pravda” with reference to sources in law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n

Bail for Iryna Mudra has been paid in full. According to her lawyer Artem Krykun-Trush, the process of depositing funds began even earlier – then the first part of the required amount was transferred. The lawyer told this in a comment to Suspilne.<\/p>\n

At the same time, it is currently unknown who exactly contributed 20 million hryvnias for the former deputy head of the OP.<\/p>\n

The case was accompanied by searches at the apartment of Iryna Mudra, where former MP Maksym Mykytas was also staying at the time. In addition, law enforcement officers conducted investigative actions at the home of MP Vadym Stolar. He stated that he was ready to assist in the investigation.<\/p>\n

After information about the searches became public, President Volodymyr Zelensky decided to dismiss Mudra from his position in the President’s Office.<\/p>\n

Preventive measures were also imposed on other defendants in the proceedings. In particular, the court determined that Maksym Mykytas could be bailed at 30 million hryvnias.<\/p>\n

Previously, Iryna Mudra’s lawyers stated that banks and payment services refused to make a payment for the deposit of 20 million hryvnias. Because of this, the Supreme Court of Justice ordered the National Bank of Ukraine to investigate the reasons for such refusals. Due to problems with the transfer, Mudra remained in custody at that time.<\/p>\n

The NBU then stated that it did not give banks any instructions to block the deposit of collateral. At the same time, the regulator explained that banks can check the origin of funds and assess the risks of a specific transaction. The mere fact of depositing collateral or the status of a politically exposed person, according to the National Bank, is not an automatic reason for refusing to make a payment.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau is conducting investigative actions within the framework of the special operation “Forrest Gump”.<\/a> The case involves, in particular, people’s deputies.<\/p>\n
