Ukraine’s defense forces struck the Omsk oil refinery in Russia on October 8. The facility is located approximately 2,500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border and supplies fuel to the Russian army.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported by<\/a> the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Omsk Refinery is the largest oil refining enterprise in Russia. Its capacity allows it to process over 21 million tons of oil per year. The plant produces various types of fuels, lubricants, and petrochemical products.<\/p>\n

The General Staff noted that the enterprise participates in supplying the Russian occupation forces.<\/p>\n

This is not the first attack on the Omsk Refinery. The Ukrainian military carried out the previous strike on July 6, 2026. Then they hit the ELOU-AVT-11 primary oil processing unit, which can process 8.4 million tons of oil per year.<\/p>\n

The General Staff emphasized that strikes on such facilities are aimed at weakening Russia’s military and economic potential.<\/p>\n

Earlier it was reported that on the night of Thursday, October 8, the Ukrainian Defense Forces, according to preliminary data, attacked two important industrial facilities in Russia<\/a> – the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat oil refining complex in Bashkortostan and the Sasta plant in the Ryazan region. Fires were reported on the territory of both enterprises.<\/p>\n
