“Points of Invincibility” are being deployed in Kyiv and projects are being implemented to create backup heat and water supply infrastructure. By the end of 2026, the capital plans to complete the construction of 13 heat supply facilities with a total capacity of about 1,600 MW.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Petro Panteleyev.<\/p>\n

In the capital, “Invincibility Points” are being deployed in the Obolonsky, Podilsky, and Svyatoshynsky districts, where the current energy supply situation is the most difficult. At the points, residents will be able to charge mobile phones, power banks, and other gadgets. The heads of the relevant district state administrations have been instructed to deploy them.<\/p>\n

In parallel, the city is creating backup heat supply sources in case the main facilities are destroyed. “These are quite complex technological projects for the construction of new heat supply sources, adapted specifically for the case when the basic facilities are destroyed,” Panteleyev noted.<\/p>\n

According to him, Kyiv has heating support points and “Invincibility Points” in each district. The city also has 80 modular and mobile boiler rooms.<\/p>\n

To ensure the operation of the heating and water supply systems, 700 generators have been installed. The backup power supply for the water supply system is 27 MW, and about 40 MW of additional power is to be provided by special power plants.<\/p>\n

A third of the work on the construction of large-capacity power plants for the water supply system has now been completed. According to Panteleyev, the necessary equipment has already been ordered, some of it is being manufactured abroad.<\/p>\n

“We planned these events, we understood the risks, accordingly, funds were provided, projects were developed, which are now being implemented,” said the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration.<\/p>\n

In addition, there are 155 pump rooms in the capital. Each of them is assigned teams with generators that will start the equipment in the event of a power outage.<\/p>\n

Recall that Kyiv and Odessa may face the most difficult electricity supply situation during the heating season due to possible Russian strikes on energy infrastructure<\/a> . In the worst-case scenario, electricity will be supplied to the capital for only four hours a day, and in frosts down to \u221210 \u00b0C, outages may last up to eight hours a day.<\/p>\n
