Police have checked more than 10,000 educational institutions and detained 10 people for threats of violence.

This is reported by the BBC .

On Friday, October 9, teenagers aged 14 and 16 were detained in Warsaw. The police were informed about the possible threat by an employee of one of the educational institutions. During the inspection of one of the teenagers’ belongings, law enforcement officers found a knife in his backpack. Another student was also found to have 11 firecrackers.

The school inspections were launched after several attacks in the Masovian Voivodeship. On October 8, a 15-year-old teenager stabbed three people, including a school employee and the school principal, at a primary school in the village of Leszczydol-Nowiny. The 37-year-old employee died.

The day before, on October 7, in the city of Ostrołęka, a 19-year-old man attacked 9 people with a knife: 5 students, 2 teachers, and 2 other people.

Following these incidents, reports began circulating on social media about a series of attacks on schools allegedly planned for October 9, dubbed “Bloody Friday.” There were also speculations about a dangerous online challenge among students.

The Polish Ministry of the Interior has urged people not to spread false information. The police said that they are checking all reports of possible threats, but there is no evidence of the existence of such a challenge.

Digitalization Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski also said that there is currently no evidence of a nationwide campaign involving a specific group of people. Prime Minister Donald Tusk linked the attacks on schools to the spread of a cult of violence on the Internet and social networks.

Amid the inspections in Warsaw, several schools were surrounded by police and children were evacuated. The city’s education department warned parents that law enforcement officers would be present at educational institutions to ensure security.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

In Poland, law enforcement is checking schools due to reports of possible attacks, and in Warsaw on October 9, 2 teenagers were detained for bringing knives to educational institutions.
