Despite the absence of a general capacity deficit in the power system, damage to networks and Russian strikes are complicating the transmission of electricity to certain regions.

This was reported by Ukrenergo .

One of the reasons for the restrictions was the systematic destruction of generation facilities in certain regions by Russian troops. This led to a significant shortage of electricity in these regions, which had to be transmitted hundreds of kilometers. At the same time, Russia focused the bulk of its attacks on the main grids.

Another factor was the strikes on substations and lines of the electricity transmission and distribution systems, particularly near large cities with high levels of consumption. Damage to the networks makes it difficult or impossible to transmit the required amount of electricity in some directions, even if there is excess capacity in other regions.

Ukrenergo also noted that constant airstrikes in the regions that are experiencing massive attacks are slowing down emergency and restoration work. Energy workers are working under the threat of repeated strikes, in particular on the workplaces of personnel and special equipment.

The combination of these factors leads to forced power outages in some regions, while restrictions may not apply in other regions. If there is excess capacity, electricity can be exported there.

Ukrenergo emphasized that energy workers are making efforts to restore damaged facilities as soon as possible. The company has the necessary equipment, machinery, and experience to carry out repair work after the Russian attacks.

At the same time, consumers in regions where restrictions are in place were urged to use electricity sparingly. Less load on the networks will help reduce the duration of forced power outages.

By the way, emergency power outages have been introduced in certain regions of Ukraine due to the consequences of Russian shelling . In these regions, previously announced power outage schedules are temporarily not in effect.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

Ukrenergo explained the reasons for the restrictions on electricity consumption in certain regions of Ukraine, which have been regularly applied since the beginning of October.
