The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine reports<\/a> this.<\/p>\n

According to Ukrainian intelligence, one of the Kremlin’s main tasks in the European direction remains to undermine support for Ukraine. To this end, Russia uses various methods of hybrid warfare: organizing sabotage and cyberattacks, conducting influence operations, spreading disinformation, engaging in espionage, and using drones for provocations.<\/p>\n

According to the SZRU, 400 representatives of Russian special services are currently working in European countries. In particular, they are testing the limits of what is permissible within NATO’s collective defense.<\/p>\n

What war scenarios is Moscow considering?<\/h2>\n

The Foreign Intelligence Service emphasizes that Russia has not ruled out a direct military clash with Europe. According to the agency, the Kremlin is developing relevant scenarios through 2045.<\/p>\n

“It would be a mistake to assume that Russia has abandoned the prospect of direct military confrontation with Europe. On the contrary, Moscow considers it as one of the scenarios for military conflicts until 2045. Six of them concern Northern Europe. Scenarios regarding Poland and the Baltic countries are also being actively developed,” the intelligence agency noted.<\/p>\n

The department explained that the Russian regime needs an external enemy to justify its policies, mobilize society, and maintain control.<\/p>\n

One possible scenario involves creating a regional crisis on NATO’s eastern flank. The Baltic states could be the most vulnerable in such a situation. Russia could try to use the crisis to demonstrate the Alliance’s inability to quickly protect its members.<\/p>\n

The SZRU emphasized that the threat from Russia is not limited to a direct military attack.<\/p>\n

“The Russian threat to Europe has long gone beyond a possible direct attack by Moscow. Russia is preparing for a long-term confrontation in which the Ukrainian and European directions are interconnected,” the intelligence service emphasized.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky called on European partners to prepare for a possible war now.<\/a><\/p>\n

In addition, the journalists described several possible scenarios in which Russia could try to test NATO’s readiness for confrontation.<\/a> These include sabotage of underwater infrastructure, covert operations, seizure of strategic territories, and an offensive in the Suwa\u0142ki Corridor area.<\/p>\n
