The European Union has officially opened two more clusters of accession negotiations for Ukraine. The decision was made on October 13 during an intergovernmental conference in Luxembourg.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was stated by<\/a> Irish Minister for European Affairs Thomas Byrne.<\/p>\n

According to him, at the fourth Ukraine-EU intergovernmental conference, the Council of the European Union opened Cluster 2 “Internal Market” and Cluster 3 “Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth.”<\/p>\n

The second cluster covers issues of the functioning of the EU internal market, in particular the free movement of goods, services, capital and workers.<\/p>\n

The third concerns economic development, entrepreneurship, digital policy, education, science, and other areas related to the competitiveness of the economy.<\/p>\n

Opening clusters means moving to substantive negotiations in the relevant areas. At the same time, this is not the end of the negotiations: Ukraine needs to fulfill the necessary conditions for closing each of them.<\/p>\n

Recall, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed amendments to the law on education<\/a> , which guarantee the right of children from national minorities and indigenous peoples to study in their native language. European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Cos said that on October 13, they plan to open 2 more negotiation clusters on Ukraine’s path to joining the European Union.<\/p>\n
