The UK will accelerate the delivery of LMM missiles to Ukraine to intercept Russian jet drones before winter. The British government is also preparing new military and financial aid to Kyiv and additional sanctions against Moscow.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new support measures will be announced during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to London, where he will meet with Prime Minister Andy Burnham. Among the key topics of the talks will be strengthening Ukrainian air defenses to protect against Russian jet drones that attack targets far from the front line, including in Kyiv.<\/p>\n

Jet drones develop higher speeds than propeller-driven drones, making them more difficult to detect and shoot down. To counter such targets, Ukraine uses, in particular, British lightweight multi-purpose missiles LMM.<\/p>\n

In total, the UK has already promised to deliver more than 5,000 missiles of this type to Ukraine over four years. The cost of the supply is estimated at 1.6 billion pounds. Now London will accelerate the transfer of missiles by 10 million pounds as part of a package of anti-aircraft weapons worth a total of 45 million pounds. This should help meet Ukraine’s most urgent needs before winter.<\/p>\n

Separately, Burnham instructed ministers to prepare new packages of military and financial aid to Kyiv, as well as sanctions against Russia. They are planned to be presented in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

In addition, the British government is introducing a complete ban on the provision of maritime services for the export of Russian liquefied natural gas. Thus, London seeks to limit Moscow’s ability to use the services of British shipping and insurance companies.<\/p>\n

“My message to the Ukrainian people could not be clearer: we are with you as long as it takes,” Burnham said.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that the German defense company Quantum Systems plans to supply Ukraine with tens of thousands of SPYS interceptor drones<\/a> , which, in particular, will be used to counter the new Russian jet drones “Geran-4” and “Geran-5”.<\/p>\n
