One of them was following military columns near a gas station and collecting information about bridges, while the other was looking for the locations of Ukrainian troops and equipment in the Dnipro.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

“Both suspects were exposed at the beginning of their espionage activity. This made it possible to secure the reserve command posts of the Ukrainian troops and gas stations that the agents were “hunting” for,” the department noted.

According to the investigation, one of the detainees was an employee of a gas station in Slavyansk. He was recruited through a former classmate who, after the start of the full-scale war, left for Russia and began working for the Russian special services.

After recruitment, the man secretly photographed and filmed on his phone the convoys of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that were at or near the gas station. He was supposed to transfer the collected materials to the Russian side for the preparation of targeted strikes. In addition, the agent drove around other gas stations and bridges that the Defense Forces use for military logistics in his own car.

The second detainee was a resident of Pokrovsk, who moved to Dnipro in 2024 and settled in a local hostel. He came to the attention of Russian special services through pro-Kremlin comments in Telegram channel chats.

Under the instructions of the curator from Russia, the man was to adjust missile and drone strikes on the places of the largest concentration of Ukrainian military and equipment in the Dnipro. To collect intelligence, he walked around different areas of the city or used public transport to reach remote locations.

During the searches, computer equipment and smartphones containing evidence of collaboration with the enemy were seized from the detainees.

SBU investigators informed both defendants of suspicion of treason under martial law and unauthorized dissemination of information about the movement or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This concerns Part 2 of Article 111 and Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The detainees are being held without bail and face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by employees of the Main Directorate of the SBU in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram .

The SBU detained two Russian agents who were gathering intelligence for strikes on the Dnipro and Sloviansk.
