The United Kingdom is sending a new batch of Storm Shadow long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine, as London seeks to help Kyiv counter Russian attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure ahead of winter.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported<\/a> by Bloomberg, citing its own sources.<\/p>\n

According to the publication, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Andy Burnham discussed replenishing the stockpile of Storm Shadow missiles during a meeting in London.<\/p>\n

The new supply will be part of increased military support for Ukraine from Western allies.<\/p>\n

Bloomberg’s interlocutors note that the British government views Ukraine’s strikes with long-range weapons on Russian military facilities, which are used to attack civilians and infrastructure, as defensive actions.<\/p>\n

London also believes that Ukraine has the right to respond to the intensification of Russian attacks and the increase in the production of drones in Russia.<\/p>\n

Storm Shadow is a cruise missile manufactured by MBDA with a range of over 250 kilometers. It flies at low altitudes, making it difficult for Russian air defense systems to detect and intercept it.<\/p>\n

Earlier, in August, the United Kingdom announced its intention to transfer missile blueprints to Ukraine in order to establish their assembly directly at Ukrainian enterprises.<\/p>\n

In addition, London is working on creating cheaper long-range weapons, the production of which will not depend on American components. <\/p>\n
