On October 15, the Council of the European Union imposed additional sanctions against three individuals and nine companies that helped Russia circumvent European restrictions. These include the supply of prohibited goods to the Russian Federation, financial transactions, and trade in Russian oil.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new sanctions list includes the company MOVERS GROUP LLC, which is engaged in parallel import of goods subject to EU sanctions into Russia, and its CEO Dmitry Chudovsky.<\/p>\n

Restrictions were also imposed on Russian customs broker and logistics operator LLC DT INIER and its majority shareholder Ivanna Savchuk. According to the Council of the EU, the company is involved in sanctions circumvention schemes.<\/p>\n

In addition, two trading companies from Turkey – BEGLER TEKSTIL INSAAT ELEKTRONIK VE DIS TICARET LTD and MEDSE GROUP LLC – were added to the list. They operate through an international network and, according to the EU, also help Russia circumvent restrictions.<\/p>\n

The sanctions also affected the Russian company United Stream LLC, as well as its founder and director Svetlana Gumenyuk. The company provides financial services and acts as an intermediary in payments for the import of goods to the Russian Federation that are subject to European sanctions.<\/p>\n

Separately, the EU has imposed restrictions on companies involved in the transportation of Russian oil. The list includes DIS Logistics DMCC, Vigor Marine Services LLP and SHIVA SHIPPING LTD, which, according to the Council of the EU, are involved in the work of the Russian “shadow fleet”.<\/p>\n

Sanctions were also imposed on HURUS TRADE FZE, a trading intermediary that supplies Russian crude oil to India. The companies affected by the restrictions in the oil sector operate in the UAE, India and the Seychelles.<\/p>\n

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaia Kallas said that helping Russia circumvent sanctions actually contributes to the continuation of the war against Ukraine.<\/p>\n

According to her, Moscow has already lost over a trillion euros due to sanctions. At the same time, the European Union plans to further strengthen control over compliance with restrictions in order to increase economic pressure on Russia.<\/p>\n
