Dynamo Kyiv has dismissed Igor Kostyuk as head coach after a 1:3 defeat to Polissya in the 9th round of the Ukrainian Premier League. Acting head coach Maciej Kędzierek will prepare the team for the upcoming matches.

This was reported by the press service of FC Dynamo Kyiv.

Polish specialist Maciej Kędzierek was part of Kostyuk’s coaching staff. He will prepare the team, in particular, for the match against Kudrivka, which is scheduled for October 23.

In the match of the 9th round of the UPL against “Polissya”, the Kyiv team played for the most part from the 5th minute, but lost with a score of 1:3.

Despite playing in the reserve, Dynamo is 8 points behind Shakhtar and 6 points behind Polissya.

In August, the Kyiv club also failed to get past Azerbaijan’s Qarabag in the Conference League qualifiers.

51-year-old Igor Kostyuk has been leading the Dynamo first team since the end of 2025. Before that, he worked in the club’s structure for many years.

Recall that the Ukrainian national team had a poor start in the group stage of the Nations League, scoring only four points in four matches. The Ukrainian Football Association has already decided on the main candidate for the position of team coach in the event of Andrea Maldera’s resignation.
