Released Ukrainian servicemen will undergo a military medical examination (MME) within 30 days of repatriation. During this time, doctors must conduct an examination and make an appropriate decision.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the defense ministry.<\/p>\n

It is noted that relevant changes have been made to the Regulations on Military Medical Examination in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, approved by Order of the Ministry of Defense No. 402.<\/p>\n

Previously, the VLK’s conclusion was issued within four months from the start of treatment. Now this period has been reduced to one month after the serviceman’s return from captivity.<\/p>\n

The changes should accelerate not only obtaining a conclusion on the need for medical care and establishing the causal relationship between injuries and illnesses, but also the processing of social guarantees and payments.<\/p>\n

If a serviceman is injured or becomes ill while in captivity, their causal connection with the defense of the Motherland will be established in a prescribed manner.<\/p>\n

After that, the defender will be entitled to additional remuneration during treatment. If he is diagnosed with disability or loss of working capacity, he will be able to receive a lump sum payment and an increased pension.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that Ukrainian servicemen undergoing treatment abroad do not need to return to Ukraine to undergo a military medical examination (MME).<\/a> They can do so remotely. The Ministry of Defense has clarified what documents are required for this and how long their consideration will take.<\/p>\n
