The talks were held in agreement with the Ukrainian side.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p> This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.presidentti.fi\/en\/president-stubb-and-prime-minister-store-held-a-phone-call-with-president-putin\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was reported<\/a> by the press service of the President of Finland.<\/p>\n<p> The conversation took place in Helsinki and was a continuation of the talks in Oslo on October 20. Stubb and Stere initiated contact to discuss Russia&#8217;s war against Ukraine, diplomatic efforts to end it, and European security.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>The aim of the talks was to directly convey to Putin positions on the future peace process.<\/strong> The conversation was also related to the planned meetings in Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n<p> The Finnish President&#8217;s Office clarified that <strong>Stubb and Stere represented only their countries, not all of Europe<\/strong> .<\/p>\n<p> During the negotiations, the leaders of Finland and Norway emphasized the need to end the war, resume the negotiation process, and continue support for Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cThe conversation was frank and meaningful. We are neighboring countries with Russia. The outcome of this war will directly affect our security and the security of Europe as a whole. Direct negotiations are necessary to end the war,\u201d Stubb said.<\/p>\n<p> The Prime Minister of Norway also drew attention to the consequences of Russian aggression.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cWar has a huge human and material cost. The suffering and destruction will affect future generations. During the conversation, we emphasized the importance of de-escalation,\u201d Stere noted.<\/p>\n<p> Separately, the parties raised the issues of stability and security in the Baltic Sea region and the Far North.<\/p>\n<p> As a reminder, on October 20 <a href=\"https:\/\/prm.ua\/pidsumky-perehovoriv-v-oslo-pro-shcho-domovylysia-ukraina-ta-ssha\/\">, negotiations between Ukraine and the United States took place in Oslo with the participation of the leaders of Finland and Norway<\/a> .
