President Volodymyr Zelenskyy attributed the limited US supplies to the war in the Middle East.

The head of state said this during a conversation with journalists, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

According to Zelensky, over the course of the year, the US has been transferring an average of 12 Patriot missiles to Ukraine each month. He noted that he can now speak openly about these volumes, in particular given the results of air defense.

“Of course, my agreements with other countries affected the number of Patriot missiles that Ukraine had. But from America we received 12 missiles per month. The reason is the Middle East. And imagine: you can count on 150 missiles per year from America, and you have to shoot down 150 ballistic missiles per month,” the president explained.

He added that he is searching for interceptor missiles every day, and every week he is forced to formulate new aid packages to protect Ukraine from Russian ballistic strikes. At the same time, the transfer of missiles that Kyiv finds in other countries requires the approval of the United States.

Zelensky said that US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had signed documents for the American package of 12 missiles. However, Ukraine has found additional ammunition in other countries, and obtaining them also requires Washington’s approval.

“There is a package from the United States, where there are 12 missiles, and he signed it. Great. But I used 35 this month. And the question concerns the 23 that I found in other directions,” the head of state said.

What did Zelensky negotiate with Trump?

The president also said that during a meeting with US leader Donald Trump in New York, he asked to agree on the so-called winter package of interceptor missiles. Zelensky named the quantity needed by Ukraine and stated that if this ammunition is received, Kyiv will not strike oil refineries.

According to the president, Trump asked where the necessary missiles could be obtained. In response, Zelensky named countries that have the appropriate stocks. The American president promised to make every effort, but at the same time emphasized that the United States itself also needs missiles, of which it has few.

Zelensky noted that the issue of supplying anti-missiles has become part of a broader set of problems in relations with the United States. In particular, this concerns the work of Starlink and Starshield, the exchange of intelligence data, approval of the transfer of interceptor missiles, and other agreements.

“And so when at some point there is a coincidence of various factors: the issue of Starlink/Starshield, intelligence, interceptor missiles against Russian ballistics, signatures, and the “diesel deal” is thrown in, then we understand where everything is going.

“‘Home alone’ is the next part. It’s a challenge, a tough challenge,” the president said.

He also recalled that Ukraine provided assistance at the request of the American side. In particular, it was about support at bases in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other countries where US citizens are located.

It was previously reported that Russia has accumulated hundreds of ballistic missiles, several thousand cruise missiles, and over six thousand strike drones. At the same time, the aggressor country continues to increase the production of weapons, including long-range kamikaze drones.

Also follow “Pryamim” on Facebook , X , Telegram , and Instagram.

Ukraine received an average of only 12 Patriot interceptor missiles per month from the US through 2026, while it has to shoot down about 150 Russian ballistic missiles each month.
