The Security Service of Ukraine, together with law enforcement officers, uncovered a scheme for the alleged embezzlement of over 16 million hryvnias from the procurement of drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was reported<\/a> by the Security Service of Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement officers detained the organizer of the scheme and his accomplices during events in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions.<\/p>\n

How the scheme worked<\/strong><\/p>\n

The investigation established that two Ukrainian Armed Forces officials were involved in the deal. They registered the drones as lost on the battlefield and then handed them over to the organizer.<\/p>\n

After that, the participants in the scheme changed the serial numbers and QR codes of the drones and sold them to military units at the prices of new products.<\/p>\n

Unsuitable for combat use, drones were later written off again and returned for resale. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The organizer of the scheme, according to the SBU, was a former military man who retired from service due to health reasons in 2025. He set up a workshop in a rented space, where specialists he hired worked. <\/p>\n

To sell drones, according to the investigation, a related commercial structure was used, which concluded contracts for the purchase and supply of drones.<\/p>\n

During the investigation, law enforcement officers conducted over 100 searches<\/strong> . They seized computer equipment, documents, money of suspected illegal origin, and premium cars. <\/p>\n

The organizer and eight of his accomplices were informed of suspicion under articles on theft of military property and legalization of property obtained by criminal means.<\/p>\n

If convicted, they face up to 15 years in prison.<\/strong> <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officers are identifying all individuals who may have been involved in the scheme. <\/p>\n
