Poland plans to transfer two MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine. The decision to transfer the aircraft has already been made, but one of them has exhausted its operational life, while the other is still airworthy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is reported<\/a> by Rzeczpospolita, citing a statement by Dariusz Lukowski, Director of the Department of Defense Strategy and Planning of the Polish Ministry of National Defense.<\/p>\n

What else will be included in the aid package?<\/h2>\n

In addition to the fighters, Poland is preparing another package of military aid for Ukraine. It will include, in particular, 155 mm and 152 mm artillery ammunition, as well as 20 102 mm ammunition for the six-barreled guns on F-16 fighters.<\/p>\n

Ukraine will also receive missiles for the Perun portable anti-aircraft missile systems.<\/p>\n

The Polish Ministry of National Defense noted that the amount of support for Ukraine depends on the security needs of the Polish state and the resources of its armed forces.<\/p>\n

According to representatives of the department, the assistance will primarily include weapons and equipment that the Polish army is decommissioning and no longer plans to use, but which may be useful to Ukraine.<\/p>\n

It was previously reported that a political dispute erupted in Bulgaria after the Defense Ministry’s statements about searching for MiG-29 aircraft for spare parts.<\/a> Opposition representatives called for abandoning Soviet aircraft and continuing the modernization of the air force based on Western fighters.<\/p>\n
