The Prosecutor General’s Office has completed an internal investigation into former head of the department, Ruslan Kravchenko, who has traveled abroad. The investigation found that he committed a disciplinary offense, for which he should have been dismissed from the prosecutor’s office.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was announced<\/a> by Acting Prosecutor General Anton Kowalsky in a comment to journalists.<\/p>\n

According to him, before leaving Ukraine, Kravchenko took the seal of the Prosecutor General’s Office. On Friday, at around 5:00 p.m., he asked the head of the relevant department for it and said he would return it on Monday.<\/p>\n

Kravchenko was at work over the weekend, and left Ukraine on Sunday. On the same day, he notified the State Security Department that he was refusing to provide security.<\/p>\n

Kovalsky noted that the official cars of the Prosecutor General’s Office were not used for Kravchenko’s trip abroad.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the employees of the international department did not prepare an order for his business trip. According to Kowalsky, the former Prosecutor General could have printed the document himself, signed it, and affixed a seal.<\/p>\n

“There is a high probability, 99%, that he printed it himself and signed it and put a seal on it,” Kowalsky said.<\/p>\n

According to the results of an official investigation, the UCP established that Kravchenko unjustifiably used an invitation from a foreign state to travel abroad.<\/p>\n

Kovalsky stressed that such actions constitute a disciplinary offense for which Kravchenko should be dismissed. However, he decided not to wait for the case to be considered by the Qualification and Disciplinary Commission of Prosecutors, as the procedure could take another two to three months.<\/p>\n

Therefore, Kovalskyi fired Kravchenko based on his own statement.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the official investigation did not reveal any material losses for the prosecutor’s office.<\/p>\n

Kravchenko had headed the Prosecutor General’s Office since June 2025. On September 14, Zelensky first suspended him from his post<\/a> , and on September 15, he officially dismissed him. The decree on dismissal No. 932\/2026 also did not contain an explanation of the reasons.<\/p>\n

Before that, Kravchenko stated that he had signed a report of suspicion to NABU Director Semen Kryvonos<\/a> . Kravchenko claimed that this involved forgery of documents and actions aimed at avoiding responsibility.<\/p>\n

On the same day, the Anti-Corruption Center announced that Kravchenko had gone abroad<\/a> . He himself explained that he was on a business trip. Later it became known that the trip was to Paris for five days.<\/p>\n
