Most civilians in Bucha were killed from the shootings during the Russian occupation. This is almost 90%.

This was stated in an interview with DW by the mayor of the city.

When asked by a journalist whether people died mainly due to shootings or
artillery shelling, Fedoruk answered:
“Almost 90 percent are bullet wounds, not shrapnel.”

As you know, the Ukrainian army completely liberated the Kiev region from Russian troops. Heavy fighting has been raging in Bucha for the past four
weeks. When Ukraine regained control of the outskirts of the capital, journalists were able to enter there and publish footage of what Bucha had become: roads and sidewalks littered with corpses of people and animals, signs of torture of civilians killed unarmed, raped women and children, scrap that used to be machinery, burned, ruined houses.

We recall that French President Emmanuel Macron stated the need to
prosecute the Russian Federation for the murders in the Kyiv region.

Also, the President of the European Council Charles Michel said that the EU
will help Ukraine to gather evidence of Russian crimes in the Kyiv region.

We recall that after the liberation of the Kyiv region from the Russian
occupiers, evidence of the genocide of Ukrainians was found in the
settlements – mass killings of civilians, tortures and rape of civilians.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba called on the
mission of the International Criminal Court to come to the Kyiv region on the
evidence of Russian war crimes.
