1,300 kilometers from the border: Defense Forces hit one of the largest oil complexes in the Russian Federation

On the night of Thursday, August 13, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat oil refining complex in the city of Salavat, Republic of Bashkortostan. After the attack, a fire broke out on the territory of the enterprise.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is noted that the facility is located approximately 1,300 kilometers from the state border of Ukraine.

Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat is one of the largest oil refining and petrochemical complexes in Russia. The enterprise has a processing capacity of up to 10 million tons of hydrocarbon raw materials per year.

The complex produces a wide range of products, including automotive gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, polyethylene, and other petroleum products and polymers.

The General Staff emphasized that the enterprise is involved in supplying the Russian occupation army, therefore it is an important element of the military-industrial potential of the aggressor country.

“Work on the enemy’s key targets continues. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are systematically reducing its ability to conduct combat operations and ensure the functioning of military groups,” the military noted.

Information about the extent of damage and the consequences of the impact is being clarified.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the large oil refining and petrochemical complex “Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat” in the Russian Bashkortostan. On the morning of August 13, local residents reported smoke in the area of the enterprise.
