10 more Ukrainian children returned from occupation: among them a two-year-old boy

Last week, the Save Ukraine team returned 10 more children and adolescents from the temporarily occupied territories. All of them lived under constant pressure, fear, and threats from the Russian occupiers.

Among those rescued is 19-year-old Dmitry, who was visited several times by armed Russian soldiers. They broke windows, checked things, and once detained the boy in a store because of a screenshot of a map on his phone.

20-year-old Maksym was threatened with a machine gun by the occupiers right on the street. At the educational institution where he studied, the Russian military agitated students to sign contracts to fly combat drones, and the boy’s acquaintances were forced to accept summonses right on the streets.

Among those rescued was 2-year-old Artem, who was born during the occupation. From birth, he heard only the sounds of military equipment, and his family lived in constant fear of searches, detentions, and threats because of their Ukrainian documents.

All children are now safe and recovering at the Hope and Recovery Centers, where they receive help from psychologists, support with documents, and temporary housing.

The return was made possible as part of the initiative of the President of Ukraine Bring Kids Back UA with the support of partners.

According to Kuleba, despite these stories, thousands of Ukrainian children still remain in the occupied territories, where they are forced to forget their identity and are being prepared for war on the side of the Russian Federation.

Thanks to Save Ukraine, more than 1,300 children have already been returned home.
