193 Ukrainian soldiers returned from Russian captivity

As part of the prisoner exchange, Ukraine returned 193 servicemen home. Among those released were the wounded and individuals against whom Russia had opened criminal cases.

This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

It is noted that among those released are servicemen from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the State Border Service, the National Police, and the State Special Transport Service. They defended the state in various directions.

“193 Ukrainian soldiers are returning home as part of the exchange,” Zelensky said.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of exchanges and the return of Ukrainians from captivity.

“It is important that there are exchanges and that our people return home,” Zelensky said.

He also thanked everyone involved in the process of returning Ukrainian soldiers.

“I thank everyone who works for the sake of exchanges. To every unit that ensures the replenishment of the exchange fund for Ukraine at the front. I am grateful to all partners who help with this,” Zelenskyy said.

The President emphasized that work to return the prisoners continues daily.

“We remember each and every one of them and continue to work every day to return our people home from Russian captivity,” Zelenskyy said.

Recall that in March, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the return of 300 Ukrainian military personnel and 2 civilians from Russian captivity . Most of the released defenders had been in captivity for over a year, some since 2022.

Earlier, Ukraine and the Russian Federation held another round of prisoner exchange . 200 people returned from Russian captivity, and later the Coordination Headquarters revealed the details of the prisoner exchange .
