The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published operational information as of 10:00 p.m. on August 22 regarding the Russian invasion.
In total, 197 combat clashes have taken place since the beginning of this day. The enemy launched two missile strikes using six missiles, carried out 68 air strikes, dropped 241 guided bombs. In addition, it engaged 7,444 kamikaze drones for destruction and carried out 2,353 shelling of settlements and positions of our troops.
In the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk directions, the Defense Forces successfully repelled 10 enemy attacks. In addition, the enemy carried out one air strike using three guided bombs and carried out 48 attacks on the positions of our troops and settlements, including three from multiple launch rocket systems.
During the day, in the South Slobozhansky direction, the enemy stormed the positions of our units near Izbitsky, Okhrimivka, and Volokhovka 17 times; another clash is still ongoing.
In the Kupyansk direction today, the enemy carried out two assaults on the positions of the Defense Forces in the direction of the settlement of Zagryzove.
Seven attempts by the invaders to advance were repelled in the Lyman direction in the areas of Shyykivka, Kopanky, Novoselivka, Drobyshevye, and Lyman.
In the Slavyansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully stopped five attempts by the invaders to advance near Kryvaya Luka, Zakitne, Mykolaivka, Rai-Oleksandrivka, and Ozerne.
Two enemy assaults were recorded in the Kramatorsk direction in the areas of Yurkivka and Tykhonivka.
In the Kostyantynivka direction, the Defense Forces repelled 22 enemy assaults near Kostyantynivka, Illinivka, Mykolaipilla, Novoselivka, and Stepanivka.
A total of 15 attacks were repelled in the Pokrovsky direction. The occupiers tried to advance in the areas of the settlements of Shakhove, Kucheriv Yar, Novy Donbas, Shevchenko, Bilytske, Myrne, Sergiyevka, Udachne and Molodetske. Two clashes are ongoing.
According to preliminary estimates, 29 occupiers were eliminated here today and 16 were wounded; two artillery systems, four units of automobiles, two units of special equipment, one control point of unmanned aerial vehicles and 27 enemy shelters were destroyed. Three attacks by the invaders were repelled by our defenders in the Oleksandrivka direction in the areas of Andriivka-Klevtsovoye and Nechaivka.
Six attacks by the occupiers were recorded in the Hulyaipil direction in the areas of the settlements of Vozdvizhivka, Rivne, Dobropillya, Dolynka, and Verkhnia Tersa; one attack is ongoing.
In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders repelled two enemy attacks in the Pavlovka area.
Today, no enemy assault actions were recorded in the Dnieper direction.
There were no significant changes in the situation in other areas.
