The head of the US Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, said that today will be the “most intense day” of strikes on Iran.
This was reported by CNBS.
“The most fighters, the most bombers, the most strikes. Intelligence that is more sophisticated and better than ever. So that’s on the one hand. On the other hand, in the last 24 hours, Iran has launched the fewest missiles it has ever launched,” the official said.
He stressed that this is “not 2003,” referring to the war in Iraq, and added that Trump will not allow a repeat of “endless missions.”
Separately, Hegset repeated the words of the American president that the US would hit Iran 20 times harder if it stopped the transportation of oil through the Strait of Hormuz.
The head of the Pentagon assured that the United States has a significant advantage in the war, while Iran will lose, left alone.
“The country’s neighbors, and in some cases former allies in the Gulf, have abandoned them. And their allies, Hezbollah, the Houthis and Hamas, are either defeated, ineffective or remain on the sidelines,” he noted.
Recall, on February 28, US President Donald Trump confirmed that the United States had launched a military campaign in Iran.
As US Vice President J.D. Vance said, the main goal of the US regarding Iran is to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons .
