2026 World Cup: Match results and team standings after the first round in Group A

The first matches of the first round of Group A at the 2026 FIFA World Cup took place. The national teams of Mexico and South Africa, as well as South Korea and the Czech Republic, met.
One of the tournament’s hosts, the Mexican national team, defeated South Africa with a score of 2:0 , while the South Korean national team defeated the Czech Republic with a score of 2:1 .
After the first round of the 2026 World Cup, the tournament table looks like this.
The next World Cup matches will take place on June 12 and 13. On June 12 at 10:00 PM Kyiv time, Team Canada will face Bosnia and Herzegovina, and on June 13 at 4:00 AM Kyiv time, Team USA will play Paraguay.
These will be matches between teams from Groups B and D, respectively.
