$250,000 bribe and threats: VAKS appeal increased bail for MP

The Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court increased the bail for a member of parliament in the case of incitement to bribery and abolished the obligation to wear an electronic bracelet.

This was announced by the Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Court of Ukraine.

The Appellate Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice considered the appeals of the defense and the prosecutor against the ruling of the investigating judge of December 9, 2025, regarding the imposition of a preventive measure on the People’s Deputy of Ukraine.

Following the results of the review, the panel of judges partially satisfied the appeals. The court canceled the suspect’s obligation to wear an electronic monitoring device and revised the amount of bail.

The Appeals Chamber increased the bail amount from 3.03 million hryvnias to 4 million hryvnias. The rest of the ruling of the investigating judge was left unchanged.

The court noted that the decision entered into legal force from the moment of its announcement and is not subject to cassation appeal.

According to the pre-trial investigation body, the MP is suspected of inciting to provide an illegal benefit, as provided for in Part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

It was previously reported that People ‘s Deputy Hanna Skorokhod came to NABU for questioning on December 8. There, investigators planned to hand her procedural documents in the corruption case.

As a reminder, the Security Service of Ukraine, NABU, and SAPO exposed a criminal group in Kyiv, which, according to the investigation, was led by a People’s Deputy of Ukraine.
