Ukrzaliznytsia announced the launch of a new support program for Ukrainians, “UZ-3000,” which provides 3,000 free kilometers for travel. The company is confident this initiative will encourage travel during non-peak periods and make travel within the country more accessible.
This was stated in the company’s official announcement on social media.
“We want everyone to be able to discover our country affordably, even if it’s just traveling from one part of Ukraine to another,” Ukrzaliznytsia noted.
The company explained that the 3,000-kilometer distance was chosen deliberately—it’s the same distance as a round-trip train ride in Ukraine.
The program is expected to help ease peak travel periods by encouraging passengers to plan their trips during less busy times.
“This program is very important for all railway workers, as it is part of state funding for passenger transportation,” Ukrzaliznytsia emphasized.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the government is preparing a large-scale “winter support” program, which will be launched in December. It will include direct payments, social assistance, the maintenance of fixed fares, and free domestic rail travel.
