Iranian Army Commander Amir Hatami has announced a $30,000 reward for the capture or killing of an American service member. He said the reward would be available to Iranian military personnel who carry out such actions and hand over the prisoner.
This is reported by The Jerusalem Post .
According to Khatami, a reward of $30,000 or 5 billion tomans is provided for each captured or killed American soldier. For Iranian women who carry out such an action, the reward, he said, will be doubled.
“For every person who kills or captures and hands over an American aggressor, the army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the support of participants in the financial jihad and under its own guarantees, will pay a gift,” Khatami said.
He also promised to double the value of the weapon of a soldier who kills an American serviceman, and to preserve his weapon in a future museum.
Khatami also said that the war with Iran had eroded US military superiority. He said other states were increasingly looking for alternative ways to ensure their own security.
Separately, the commander of the Iranian army criticized US President Donald Trump’s statements about the possible declaration of the Strait of Hormuz as “US territory.”
Khatami also stated that American military bases in the Middle East will not be able to return to their previous status, and called on the US to leave the region.
By the way, the United States and Iran have not yet been able to make progress in negotiations to end the war in the Middle East and restore the interim agreement that the parties concluded in June.
It was previously reported that on the night of July 15, the United States launched a new series of strikes on Iranian military facilities and announced the resumption of a naval blockade of ships heading to or leaving Iranian ports .
The day before, Iranian cruise missiles hit two tankers flying the flag of the United Arab Emirates in the Strait of Hormuz . The attack killed one crew member and injured eight others, including two Ukrainian citizens.
