500 million to Poroshenko’s bodyguard and 45 million to a participant in Mindich’s scheme – why some bails are sky-high and others are ridiculous

The first defendants in the Mindich case, who are chosen as a preventive measure, may be released on bail, which is disproportionate to the volume of embezzlement. In particular, the former advisor to the former Minister of Energy Ihor Myronyuk, who appears in the NABU/SAP case “Midas” under the pseudonym “Rocket”, may be released on bail of UAH 136.6 million.

And the executive director of security at Energoatom, Dmytro Basov, under the pseudonym “Tenor”, may receive a bail of UAH 45,420,000 as an alternative to detention.

At the same time, the amount of embezzlement involved in the case reaches 100 million US dollars.

We will remind you that three officers of the UDO guarding the fifth President Poroshenko, who have been held in a pre-trial detention center since March of this year, were set bails totaling one and a half billion hryvnias.

As reported by Petro Poroshenko’s lawyer Ihor Holovan, probation officers are being asked to provide false testimony against the fifth President, and the case itself is fabricated based on a Russian flash drive.

“Such space bails indicate that these people will not be released until this evidence is extracted from them,” says Golovan.

He stated: all previous cases against Poroshenko over the past 6 years have failed.

“The sanctions imposed illegally, extrajudicially, are not accepted by either society or our international partners. Therefore, the authorities are filming a new political commissioned series against their opponent. However, this time, with unprecedented cynicism, they used the preparations of the Russian FSB,” the lawyer notes.

“The SBI is tasked with extracting testimony from probation officers in any way possible. This is the only way they can mask the lack of real evidence in the hundreds of cases opened against Poroshenko. But now, for the first time, the assistance provided through the FSB and the traitor Kozak is being directly used,” Golovan noted.

“All this is done with one goal – to clean up the political field and eliminate the opponent. Both the customers and the executors will have to answer for all this,” Igor Golovan is convinced.
