54 searches in 7 regions at once: a large-scale drug gang with millions in profits was exposed in the Ternopil region
Law enforcement officers of the Ternopil region conducted a large-scale special operation and exposed an organized drug group operating in Ukraine. As a result, 10 people were detained, and the total value of the seized drugs is estimated at about 700 million hryvnias.

According to the investigation, the group members organized a full cycle of illegal activities — from the production to the transportation and sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in various regions of Ukraine.
As part of the special operation, law enforcement officers conducted 54 searches in 7 regions. The operation involved officers from the Drug Crime Control Department, investigators, operatives, criminal analysis officers, as well as representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine with the support of special forces.
During the investigative actions, significant amounts of narcotics and equipment were seized. In particular:
- about 200 kilograms of methadone;
- 127 kilograms of opium extract;
- about 20 tons of precursors;
- 20 kilograms of cannabis;
- 25 kilograms of poppy straw.
Law enforcement officers also seized laboratory equipment used to manufacture synthetic drugs.
According to police, the suspects could have produced over 2 million doses of narcotics from the seized raw materials.
Separately, it was established that the drug laboratory was set up on the territory of a former agricultural enterprise with an area of 300 square meters. In three premises disguised as a farm, methadone, amphetamine and methamphetamine were produced, as well as the products were packaged.
During the searches, the following was also seized:
- 6 cars;
- over 202 thousand hryvnias;
- almost 45 thousand dollars;
- 11,350 euros.
The total value of the seized property exceeds 5 million hryvnias. Investigators have reported 12 individuals under suspicion under Articles 307 and 317 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Ten of them have already been detained.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officers are preparing a petition to the court to impose preventive measures on the suspects. They face up to 12 years in prison for their actions.
Recall that in Ukraine, prosecutors have sent an indictment to the court against participants in a network for the production and sale of psychotropic substances. According to the investigation, the organizers have established a full cycle of production and sale of psychotropic substances throughout the country.
