5G testing to be expanded in Ukraine: network to appear in Kharkiv and Borodyanka in autumn

In the fall of 2025, pilot testing of 5G technology will be expanded in Ukraine. Advanced communication will appear in Kharkiv and Borodyanka.
This was stated by the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov.
It is noted that these cities were chosen because of the significant destruction they suffered from Russian strikes.
He also added that the technology needs to be tested in the most challenging circumstances.
Fedorov also noted that Ukraine is capable of introducing innovations even in the face of possible supply disruptions and limited resources.
“Experts will also be able to assess the potential of 5G in urban reconstruction, from the implementation of smart solutions for municipalities to digital services for citizens,” the minister added.
It was previously reported that the government plans to gradually phase out 3G . The complete shutdown of third-generation mobile communications is planned for 2030.
