The number of citizens in Ukraine who expect a reset of power after the end of the war has increased. Ukrainians most want changes in the Verkhovna Rada, but a significant part also supports a change of president.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).
Sociologists asked Ukrainians whether, after the end of the war, it is necessary to change the central government — the president, the government, or the parliament — to restore the country.
According to the study, 63% of respondents chose the option that all government representatives should be replaced. Another 20% separately indicated the need to change the Verkhovna Rada.
As a result, a total of 83% of respondents said they would like to see a replacement for parliament after the war.
Regarding other government bodies, the figures have also increased. 67% of Ukrainians support replacing the president after the war ends, and 74% expect changes in the government.
“If three years ago 73% expected a reboot of the central government at least at one level, now the figure has increased to 88%,” KIIS noted.
According to sociologists, the indicator regarding the head of state has changed the most. Three years ago, 23% of respondents wanted to replace the president after the war, and now 67%.
At the same time, KIIS emphasized that previous research shows that the majority of Ukrainians do not support holding elections before the end of hostilities.
The survey was conducted from May 7 to June 3, 2026. 1,000 respondents participated in it.
