710 thousand Russian troops: Syrsky on the scale of the buildup of forces at the front

The Russian army has increased the size of its group to about 710,000 people to conduct a strategic offensive operation.
This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, during the 32nd meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in the “Ramstein” format.
“Despite significant losses, the Russian army does not refuse to continue offensive actions, although it has not achieved significant operational successes,” Syrsky noted.
He also gave examples of effective actions by Ukrainian troops. Thanks to active search and strike operations, Ukrainian units pushed the occupiers away from Kupyansk and took control of almost 90% of the city’s territory.
In the Pokrovske direction, where Russian troops have been trying to capture the city for over 17 months, Ukrainian units regained control over 16 sq. km in the northern part of the city, and also recaptured 56 sq. km of territory in the areas of the settlements of Hryshyne, Kotlyne, and Udachne west of Pokrovske.
Syrsky stressed that Ukraine continues to strike at critical Russian infrastructure facilities using Deep Strike weapons. According to him, Russia’s direct and indirect losses since the beginning of the year amount to 21.5 billion US dollars.
The Commander-in-Chief emphasized that, against the backdrop of the buildup of Russian troops, external support for Ukraine is critically important, and called on partners to increase the volume of international military assistance, primarily to strengthen air and missile defense and long-range fire capabilities.

At the same time, the Ukrainian army is holding back the enemy’s pressure, applying active defense tactics and disrupting the Kremlin’s plans.
