The European Union plans to provide Ukraine with the first tranche of a €90 billion loan in early April 2026.

This was stated by European Commissioner for Economic Affairs Valdis Dombrovskis following a conversation with the Head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance Serhiy Marchenko and the Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov.

As Dombrovskis noted, the parties discussed work on this EU loan for Ukraine.

“We are moving towards approving a 90 billion package for 2026-2027 and aim to provide the first payment in early April,” the politician’s post says.

As a reminder, the European Parliament supported the proposal for a decision of the EU Council, which allows activating enhanced cooperation to establish a loan for Ukraine in the amount of 90 billion euros in 2026-2027.

As previously reported, the European Parliament supported the use of an accelerated procedure to consider the issue of providing Ukraine with large-scale financial assistance – a loan worth 90 billion euros.
