A 15-year-old Transcarpathian man with a knife was preparing an attack on a school: the police acted preemptively

Law enforcement officers prevented a possible attack at a school in the Transcarpathian region.

This was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.

According to him, a 15-year-old boy was detained near an educational institution while he was carrying a knife in his backpack.

At the time of his arrest, the teenager was already live-streaming on one of the streaming platforms, and had previously posted disturbing posts on social media about his intentions.

The incident was prevented thanks to information exchange with British law enforcement. The operation involved cyber specialists, criminal police operatives, and teams that reinforced school security.

“As a result, the attack was stopped. Children and teachers are safe,” Klymenko noted.

Investigations are currently underway. According to preliminary information, the boy planned to commit an armed attack on students with subsequent broadcasting on social networks.

As a reminder, a bloody tragedy occurred in Minneapolis – during prayer in a Catholic church, an armed man opened fire on students and worshipers . Two children, ages 8 and 10, were killed, and at least 17 others were injured.
