A 17-year-old Ukrainian citizen was killed in a knife attack in Dublin, Ireland’s capital. Another boy and a woman were hospitalized with injuries.

The Irish Times and Irish Independent write about this.

The tragedy occurred on October 15 at the Grattan Wood residential complex in the north of the city, which houses an emergency accommodation center for international protection seekers. The Children and Families Agency, Tusla, confirmed that the facility provides 24-hour care for migrants.

According to police, law enforcement officers arrived at the scene around 11:00 a.m. There they found a seriously injured teenager who, despite medical intervention, died at the scene. The boy’s body has been sent for an autopsy, after which a determination will be made on the nature of the case.

Another minor foreigner was arrested at the scene; he also suffered cuts and is hospitalized; his life is not in danger. A woman, who, according to RTE, is a center employee and tried to stop a conflict between two teenagers—a Ukrainian and an African—was also hospitalized with injuries.

Irish police are establishing all the circumstances of the tragedy and are trying to contact the relatives of the deceased, who may be outside Ireland.
