A bag containing the body of a baby was found in a park in Lviv

The body of a baby was found in a park area on Chornovola Avenue in Lviv. The child was found in a bag wrapped in a blanket.

This was reported by the Lviv region police.

A report about a suspicious bag was received by the 102 hotline on April 28 from a local resident.

The investigative and operational group of Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department, as well as employees of other services, immediately went to the scene.

During the inspection, law enforcement officers discovered the body of an infant in a bag. The child was dressed and wrapped in a blanket.

The body has been sent for a forensic examination, which will determine the exact cause of death.

Police are currently conducting primary investigative actions, searching for witnesses and eyewitnesses, and identifying the child’s mother and people who may be involved in this crime.

The issue of opening criminal proceedings is also being addressed.

The chief of the Lviv region police took control of the case.
