A bear prevented a Kyiv resident from illegally crossing the border with Romania: details of a curious case

On the border with Romania, a Kyiv resident attempted to illegally cross the state border outside the checkpoints. While crossing, he encountered a female bear, after which he climbed a tree and called for help.

This was reported by the State Border Service of Ukraine.

According to the State Border Service of Ukraine, a resident of Kyiv planned a route to Romania through mountainous terrain outside the established checkpoints.

During a night crossing, a man unexpectedly encountered a female bear. To escape the danger, he climbed a tree and called for help from there.

Border guards from the Mukachevo detachment responded to the call. By the time they arrived, the animal had already left the scene.

Border guards safely removed the man from the tree and took him to the unit. An administrative report was drawn up against the violator.

We would like to remind you that employees of the State Bureau of Investigation have completed a pre-trial investigation into a law enforcement officer from Chernivtsi region, who is suspected of organizing the illegal transfer of conscripts across the state border. The indictment has already been sent to the court.
