The Security Service of Ukraine, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, and the SAPO have uncovered a criminal group in Kyiv, which, according to the investigation, was led by a Ukrainian MP. She, along with an assistant and several intermediaries, offered a businessman $250,000 to “negotiate” the imposition of NSDC sanctions on his competitor.

This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

Investigators found that the participants in the scheme wanted to divide the bribe into two tranches and forced the businessman to write a receipt for a supposed loan to guarantee receiving the entire amount. During the transfer of the first part – $125,000 – the intermediary received the money right in the center of Kyiv.

The suspects assured the “client” that they would transfer the funds to NSDC officials, but they never found a person who would agree to commit the crime. During searches of the deputy and her accomplices, law enforcement officers seized evidence of participation in the scheme.

Based on the collected materials, all participants were informed of suspicion of inciting to give a bribe to an official occupying a particularly responsible position, in a prior conspiracy by a group of persons. Law enforcement officers are deciding on preventive measures.

In parallel, journalist Andriy Tsapliyenko published a fragment of the negotiations, where MP Skorokhod threatens the entrepreneur:

“What the hell am I doing here, a jar of gin? I can hire guys who will take you somewhere in an alley.

It was previously reported that the SBU, NABU, and SAPO exposed a criminal group in Kyiv, led by a member of parliament from the “For the Future” party.

We remind you that the SBU and the National Police exposed seven more organizers of “evasion schemes” in various regions of Ukraine.
