A curious incident occurred in the French city of Agde. A court banned a cat from entering a neighbor’s yard.

According to the Daily Mail , the animal’s owner, Dominica Valdez, was fined more than €1,140 for her pet entering a neighbor’s garden and “causing property damage.”

According to the judge, the cat, named Remy, had been eating on the blanket and left paw prints on the wall. Ultimately, the woman was ordered to pay approximately 460 euros (approximately 22,000 hryvnias) in compensation and 800 euros (approximately 38,000 hryvnias) in legal costs. Additionally, if Remy crosses the fence and returns to the neighbors’ home, the woman will be charged 30 euros (1,400 hryvnias).

Despite the court’s ruling, Remy violated the rule and entered the neighbor’s yard again. The neighbor filed a second complaint, and now the French couple will have to pay €1,995 in compensation.
